Wish the cylinder heads still looked as good as the last version of the Scout.
Here I am, looking at V7 videos every free moment I'm not riding on my recently purchased V7 Special... I subscribe to every single word.
They are a great machine and best around ride for all things. Enjoy and ride safe!
See two of these 2019 springfields available used..hard to find around here so i gotta go 200-300 miles to get one.. new is a little out of my price range but think this 2019 will be my upgrade from my HD Sportster1200 is my first bike.
It's a good platform and I would recommend getting in a test ride when able.
How does somebody so stupid get to be an authority on bikes? No Victory was ever carburated.
About the buffeting, I’m 70” with 32” inseam, I have the Guardia version with the taller windscreen and get zero buffeting. Living in California and driving freeway speeds too. I use an Arai helmet which could also make a difference. This was one of the main reasons I chose this bike was because of no buffeting. Sounds like a simple fix depending on your stature.
California scientific has a tall windshield that you might like. Based in Mo. I think. I enjoyed the review and thank you for sharing. It’s the one bike I am considering. Like you said, the lack of support is a drawback.
Great review. I’m seriously considering buying one. Can you comment on ease of pushing it around while off the bike and on the bike?
Depending on your height on the bike as long as your legs hit the ground it's pretty good, but top heavy if your legs don't provide enough leverage. On the ground it's really easy to move around and get on it's center stand and such.
I like the heritage better. Sitting down IN the bike just feels right. Road kings feel like sitting on a horses back.
Tuen signals will auto cancel if you wait a full 45 seconds... Seem like an eternity. Mine? 2022 Guardia w/ Urban bags (black n Silver). Decated w heated grips. Love it. Second Gizzi. Former H D former Yamaha former Kawa triple. Guzzi's are my Fav. So all around balance. Great brakes, Great torque. Great cruising at 85 to 90. AND Not everyone has one. Ps. Valve adjust takes 1.5 hrs and is easy.
I've got the real deal a 1978 2J2 SR500 🤗
so your telling me keep it between 6000 and 12000 🥳🥳
I wish my financial advisor would give the go ahead to trade my tiger 900 in on one of these. They are such sweet bikes.
What a complete and utter moron...giggling like a lil b*tch...
what is the top speed of this thing?
Untested at this time.
What’s the max speed for each gear on the 500?
I like the look of this bike never had a cruiser riding KTM 1290 s but bad legs pain need a lower bike but unsure when i see Indian 101 and other scouts riders look seethed out and no bend the arms? Not good for our UK shitty roads and very tight turns on back lanes. Can th bears be brought more towards the rider ? thanks Big D youtube@flapjackandbeans
I have a Vulcan 1500, let’s ride sometimes…yes I’m in Oklahoma City 😜
It's not an air cooled engine
In what way? I recommend you go to your resources and check again. Scout, Speed plus, and Power Plus are all liquid cooled fully jacketed engines. Thunderstrokes, like the one installed on the Chieftain are air-cooled. Still don't believe that here's my source from Indian themselves. www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/motorcycle-engines/
I’m digging that sled!
What a freaking clown! This bike rise and looks awesome and has so many great features!
To much bullshit.
I inspected and smelled and I'm happy to report that bull excrement was not found.
I bought a Pursuit last fall. I live in an area with alot of curvy roads, and I can tell ya the Pursuit is like a large comfortable sportbike. I'm not saying it will outrun or outlean crotch rocket race bikes. I mean it has outstanding handling and is so flickable on roads like The Dragon, The Snake, Moonshiner 28, and other twisty roads.
I never liked these kind of bikes. I am a Goldwing type rider, but I have to say, Indian is killing it so great with its design bikes. Its starts to work on me. Going to a demo day, next weekend. I have to ride some of them.
mine s40 2009 .. got the califonia muffler= really quiet ..but will backfire if you like to down shift lol ! rev high then motor helps slow .. it will POW .. lol
done 97 mph .. it will do more.. but too vibratey for me too push it! the older 1s comes with 145 main jet.. the newer with the 155.. im thinking 159 jet be perfect! every1 is drilling them bigger so less backfire /smoother throttle! wish had custom wheels .. no tubes= alot smoother and easier repairs.
Totally agree. It would save everyone money and time.
Great bikes, I have the 2023 model. I like the basic style bike, no ride modes etc…Good power delivery also great for urban riding. Nice review
That muffle looks like you can carry a passenger on it.
How much torque does it have
Never thought riding a bike was so complicated. My old Honda 4 had a speedo and tachometer, a few idiot lights. Had one of them new whizz bang electric start thingyies…never trusted it. Always kicked. Had one of those nice front discs brakes. They’re handy.
Cool bike
I like bikes that can be lugged and revved so might be a deal breaker. My M50 is kinda the same way mirrors are always blurry.
I’m liking the Indian bikes. But I heard they really run hot. Do you have information about that issue?
I agree that the heat can be something not expected to those who have never experienced a V-twin before as your legs do wrap around the rear cylinder essentially. I don't really feel that heat any longer as much due to the many years on V-Twins and also the NightRod being the hottest freaking thing on the planet. This new Speedplus engine does not produce the heat of the Scout engine of past, but I could see where some may find it feeling warm.
Would you recommend this for a newer rider?
It would be a good platform to start and grow on. The engine does not get too crazy until you rev it up, low on the ground and easy to flick around.
The Scouts are just Pure Fun! Great platform!
You need to ride it on more interesting roads than a boring motorway.
We don't have them sadly. I promise you Oklahoma is a sea of sadness in the central part where I am. The first real turns are over an hour away and the really really good roads are 4 hours. I wish I could take one for a long range ride to hit those, but unfortunately I'm stuck with what I have.
What all does the touring setting do or did I miss that part
It lowers the throttle response
Hey Harley, get a load of this! Good luck with that Nightster thingy.
Will the old batwing ferring fit on the 2025 sport scout
The thing with this Guzzi is that it isn't a modern bike styled to look traditional, it's an older traditional design that has been carefully refined, updated and really really improved. Engineer brother's 890 KTM with quick shifter will run circles around this Guzzi but it feels isolated in comparison and it doesn't speak to me. The mechanicalness, handling and comfort of the V7 Stone does. As brother noted; they are compleat opposites on the street bike spectrum, but both great.
Looks like your over stretched to reach bars they could do with coming back
the only reason i didnt get a Springfield. no stock windshield and that fake gas cap.... eww... ..... i got a the super chief limited....
I'll admit the fake left hand cap is weird, but it's like traditional when tanks were separate and required both fillers, and technically a third where the oil was. But it is not necessary.
RH, I really appreciate your videos man! You have reviewed BOTH of the motorcycles I owned. My VERY first motorcycle was a 2018 Suzuki Boulevard M90 (too big for a beginner right?) and now I have a 2022 SDH and I absolutely love it. I've had it for a year and a half now and couldn't be happier (unless they switched out the gauge and placed in more in my field of view). I was considering the RKS. I even rented a RKS for a weekend from a guy on Riders Share and liked it. Buuuuut, once I went for a test ride on the SDH, it was game over for the RKS. Such a difference in the way it rides, handles, and shifts. Once I rode it, I knew I was getting it! Thanks again for your reviews!
If it is still there it is priced to high for the local market. It is a quality machine, but doesn't have the features provided by comparable priced competitors.
On my .2018 just hit the home button on the left grip and it goes to maps and every thing .there is
Awesome bike. Lost me at 3.4 gallons…
You can't use a stretch after 250 miles?
I doubt it will get 73 mpg ( 250 / 3.4). Plus I imagine 3.4 gallons is including reserve so not really usable range unless you like pushing.
Thank you for this review! Currently iam owning a Indian scout bobber twenty 2020 and thinking about a upgrade to this or the rk this review helped me a lot! Greetings from Germany!
I just bought a 2023 springfield dark horse, and I absolutely love it.rides like a dream
I test rode the Sport Chief and 101 Scout yesterday. Coming from a Honda CB1000R naked, looking for a more upright position, the Sport Chief felt good. It took turns better than bigger cruisers and still felt like a cruiser. Then I rode the 101. For me, again coming off a naked sport bike, the 101 is my pick. The Sport Chief, even in sport mode, had a bit of lag in the throttle, which is something I cant have for my commute. The 101 was immediate throttle response. But even in sport mode it felt like it was needing just a bit more oomph. But then I found it's piwer band happy spot. Like RH says, it is in the 4k+ range and you feel it. Now I'm eagerly waiting to trade my CB in for this bad mamajama.
fuck with the FTR
Where did you get that windshield I’ve been looking everywhere can’t find a windshield that size
Great video! Very imformative... i just bought a 2012 Trimph America. Not an Lt so i got to add the accessories.... Its my first cruiser... everything you said was spot on... Its smooth has plenty power for me, comfortable. I Wish it had a fuel gage though.. Question... what type of camera were you using to film.
This was an excellent review as you presented more realistic road challenges with potholes, poor surface quality, etc. I also like that you took it on the interstate, where we saw what wind buffeting is like. I'm looking at your bike, the Chieftain, and Challenger, but there's something about the classic, no-frills look I'm a sucker for. I like the Road King Special, but the suspension on the Indian edges is out for me.
